Everybody knows Babe Ruth. But if stats don’t lie, Josh Gibson should be the name you say first.
Gibson hit almost 1,000 home runs. Some say he once hit a ball completely out of Yankee Stadium. His numbers were so ridiculous that MLB historians still debate whether he was the greatest power hitter of all time.
So why isn’t his name mentioned in the same breath as Ruth or Aaron?
Because baseball didn’t count his stats. Because history tried to erase him.
But we won’t let them.
